AC Milan enters the race for Chris Smalling
The Manchester United’s center-back joined AS Roma the past transfer window. Since then he become one of the biggest surprises in the Italian Serie A. With his good performances he helps Roma to play good football, and they are currently 3rd on the table.
This was the reason why Roma wants to buy him out from Manchester United. However when they were agreeing the loan deal, they did not managed to insert buy-out option. Our sources confirm that Roma has already sent offer to Manchester United, to seal the transfer of the 29-year old defender.
However besides Roma, two other Italian clubs are interested in Smalling’s services. This is the reason why United rejected Roma’s 15 million offer. They are now requesting 20 million for Chris, knowing that AC Milan and Inter are also interested for the experienced player.
On the other side AC Milan is already prepared to invest again, after the poor start of the season. The 20 million euros are not a big sum, especially if we consider how money Elliott has. Our analyst expect that Milan will make formal approach for Smalling before January. However it is not likely that Roma will accept to cancel the loan deal for the defender. This means that Chris Smalling can join AC Milan or Inter earliest at the end of June 2020.
