After more than 10 years, Abate will leave AC Milan
Ignazio Abate is one of the players that most of his career has spent in AC Milan. To be more precise Abate started his football journey from AC MIlan’s youth academy, when in 2003 was promoted to Milan U19, and from 2005 he became player of Milan’s first team. However in that period AC Milan was on the top of the world’s football, so there was not enough space for young player among the world’s best players. Because of that he was continually loaned to sides as: Piacenza, Modena, Empoli and Torino. In 2008 Abate was sold Torino, only to be bought back the next year. Ever since the 2009 Abate has been in AC Milan every season.
So far Ignazio has played 302 matches for AC Milan, on which he scored 3 and assisted 21 goals. However his adventure with the Italian giant is set to end. His last contract with Milan was signed on 11th June 2015, and it is expiring in about 2 months, on 30 June. Even though there were some negotiations between the two sides, now it is clear that Abate will leave AC Milan at the end of the season. Our sources from Milan confirm this information, and believe that this is decision made by the management which wants to give more chances to the younger players.
