Today was played the 4th game of the season Milan Atalanta. We faced Atalanta home at San Siro, in front of nearly full stadium. As we previously reported Atalanta is one of the toughest for our club and we have not won against them in the last 6 matches(including the one today). AC Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma, Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura, Suso, Higuain, Calhanoglu (4-3-3)
Atalanta(3-4-1-2): Gollini; Masielo, Palomino, Toloi; Gosens, Freuler, De roon, Castagne; Pasalic ; Gomez, Zapata
First half information
The game started great for us when from the first action on the game Gonzalo Higuain scored after great cross from Suso. After the goal Atalanta started to press, but soon we managed to gain full control of the game. In the first half we had many great opportunities to increase the lead, but failed on all of them.
The first half ended with possession of the ball of 59% for AC Milan. Also our club has created 9 actions, and 6 of them finished with shoot into the goal. On the other side Atalanta managed only to create 2 actions, and they never hit the target.
Second half information
The second half started poorly for us, because Atalanta quickly equaled the result. It was probably due to the tactical change that their coach Gian Piero Gasperini made. He pulled out of the game Barrow and Pasalic and on their place in the game entered Zapata and Rigoni. After the conceded goal we started to attack again. That brought instant result because Bonaventura scored after another wonderful assist from Suso. After that Milan tried to calm the game, and slow down the tempo. It was going well until the 91st minute when Rigoni used the chaos in the defence and scored equalizer.
The second half finished with 53% possession for Milan. In the segment of created chances this half Atalanta totally dominated because they created twice more chances and shoots at goal.
